Financial support under the program covers 4 priorities:
Priority 1 – Infrastructure and programme support for operating folk universities, conducting full-time courses with the use of boarding facilities or extra-mural courses.
Funds from the program should be used for the development of non-governmental organizations and a more effective implementation of their statutory activities through, inter alia, improving the skills and qualifications of teachers, purchasing equipment and supplies, and improving management standards.
Priority 2 – Support for creating new folk universities and reactivating existing ones
Support for civic organizations planning to launch a new institution, conducting educational activities in accordance with the principles of the Grundtvigian methodology and organizations that intend to reactivate the activities of the previously existing folk university.
Priority 3 – Support for networks and federations of civic organizations operating in the form of folk universities.
Priority 4 – Support for local partnerships established with the participation of folk universities, with the task to create and develop an offer in the field of civil education.
The measurable effects of the program will be the inclusion and use of the potential created by the concept of folk universities in building civil society, increased interest in the non-formal education offer for adults, and provision of funds for the institutional development of existing, newly established and reactivated institutions.
The Folk Universities Development Programme has been planned in the long term for the years 2020 – 2030. Over PLN 9 million has been allocated for each year for the activities carried out within its framework.
